Business Identity

Definition

A Business Identity is the public layer for a company or commercial entity — its name, story, locations, offers, and public work — separate from the owner’s Personal or Professional identity.

Account is private. Identity is public. Reputation belongs to the identity.

Purpose

To give the company its own accountable public presence inside the Digital Chamber of Commerce.

Why it exists

A company is not a person. Employees, products, locations, hours, listings, hiring, and company reputation belong to the business, not to the owner’s private profile.

Who it is for

  • Company owners and operators
  • Local and regional businesses that need a public entity page

Typical use cases

  • Restaurant or café
  • Contractor or trades company
  • Retail shop
  • Agency or studio
  • Local service company

How it works

Created and managed under the owner’s Account. Public business fields and related profiles attach to this identity. Reputation for company actions belongs here.

Examples

  • A restaurant’s public business page
  • A contractor company distinct from the owner’s Personal Identity

What belongs here

  • Company name, commercial story, offers, listings, company news, hiring, public business contact

What doesn’t belong here

  • Private family posts and personal diaries
  • Using Business Identity as a substitute for a person’s Professional Identity when the speaker is still the individual, not the company
