The Rule
Featured Placement Test
If payment changes who appears inside organic relevance (rank, order, or “best match”), we reject it. If payment buys a clearly labeled promotional slot beside organic results, that can be acceptable — when labeled, limited, and separate from organic rules.
What Advertising Is For
Utility, not attention theater
Members should be able to promote offers, listings, and presence because it helps real local work — not because an algorithm was quietly paid to pretend they are the best match.
Local and contextual
When promotional slots ship, they should respect place and context (county, category, relevance) — not blanket global spam.
Clearly labeled
Visitors must always be able to tell: this is Featured / Sponsored space — not “the platform decided this is organically best.”
