1. Purpose

This document states NoFakeBiz’s public principle for AI, bots, and automation. It exists so members, partners, and AI systems do not have to invent one.

Software runs the platform. That is not the same as fake people or fake activity. “NoFake” names a trust ambition — it does not mean “no computers.”

2. Core stance

• AI may be a tool.
• AI must not pretend to be a human.
• Automation is not deception.
• NoFakeBiz will not simulate community.

AI assistance does not remove human accountability. When content is published through a Public Identity, that identity remains accountable for what it publishes.

We do not try to police which private drafting tools a member used. We protect attribution: content and Reputation belong to the Public Identity that acted — not to the private Account as a substitute actor, and not to an unlabeled machine speaking as if it were a person.

3. Three actors

Most confusion disappears when these three cases stay separate:

A. A member uses AI

Allowed as a tool — for brainstorming, grammar, translation, research assistance, drafting, or editing. The member and the Public Identity that publishes remain accountable for the published result. AI assistance is not an escape from authorship responsibility.

B. NoFakeBiz uses automation internally

Normal platform operation: notifications, spam and abuse filters, search indexing, rate limits, backups, and similar systems. That is automation. It is not presented as human membership activity, and it is not “fakeness.”

C. NoFakeBiz-operated AI talks or acts toward users

If NoFakeBiz later offers assistants or agents that speak or act toward members, they must be clearly labeled and attributed as AI / automated systems — never presented as a human Public Identity.

Maturity today: such assistants are PLANNED, not LIVE. The labeling rule is locked now so product work cannot invent a silent human-shaped agent later.

4. Automation vs deception

Legitimate automation (examples):

• Email or in-app notifications
• Spam, abuse, and disposable-registration controls
• Search indexing and discovery infrastructure
• Rate limits, security checks, and system maintenance

Deception (examples):

• Fabricated profiles or bot membership theater
• Fake reviews, likes, followers, comments, or other synthetic engagement
• Simulated community activity to attract real users
• An automated system impersonating a human person or human Public Identity
• Undisclosed synthetic activity under a Public Identity

Disposable and automated abuse of registration is already prohibited in summary on Terms. Registration requires email confirmation as a LIVE membership control. It confirms control of the registration email; it is not, by itself, proof that a registrant is human — see Verification Philosophy. This page states the wider authenticity principle those controls serve.

5. What members must not do

• Create or operate fake people, disposable bot accounts, or fabricated Public Identities
• Buy, generate, or stage synthetic engagement (reviews, likes, followers, comments, and similar theater)
• Impersonate another person or entity
• Use an automated system to impersonate a human or to create undisclosed synthetic activity under a Public Identity

6. What the platform will and will not do

Will:

• Run software and automation needed to operate and protect the platform
• Treat fake actors and fake activity as authenticity violations
• Require clear labeling if platform-operated AI assistants ship later
• Keep Public Identity attribution as the home of published action and reputation

Will not:

• Simulate community to look bigger or more active than it is
• Market NoFakeBiz as a “human-only sanctuary,” “100% Certified Human” badge program, or an anti-AI / Pause-AI “resistance movement”
• Confuse verification badges with authenticity (different jobs)
• Claim that no computer ever touches a member’s draft before publish

7. Relationship to Verification

Verification answers: what specific claims did we check, and on what basis? Today’s primary membership claim is email control.

Authenticity (this document) answers: when do technology and automation cross into deception?

Email confirmation confirms control of the registration email and serves as a LIVE membership control. It helps against disposable sign-ups. It does not, by itself, prove that a registrant is human, does not mean “this Digital You is certified human,” and does not replace this authenticity principle.

8. What this document is not

• An anti-technology or Pause-AI manifesto
• A claim that no software runs on NoFakeBiz
• A “Certified Human” marketing stunt
• A KYC / verified-human product (see Verification Philosophy)
• A rewrite of Account, Digital You, or Public Identity ontology
• A promise to detect every private use of AI drafting tools
• A full technical bot-mitigation runbook

9. Maturity

• Registration email confirmation (LIVE membership control — proves email control, not that a registrant is human): LIVE
• Anti-abuse / disposable and automated registration abuse prohibitions: LIVE
• This Authenticity principle document: Approved v1.0
• NoFakeBiz-operated AI assistants / agents toward users: PLANNED (must be labeled if/when shipped)
