Verification Philosophy

What does it mean when NoFakeBiz says something is verified?

That is the only question this page answers. Collecting and protecting data live in Registration and Privacy.

The platform flow

Registration → What do we collect?
Privacy → How do we protect it?
Verification → What claims are we willing to make?

1. Purpose

Verification exists so limited trust claims are honest and scoped — not inflated into industry KYC or a fame badge.

It answers an epistemic question: What does NoFakeBiz claim to know — and on what basis? It is not a security manual, a data inventory, or a KYC policy.

2. What “verified” means here

A scoped trust claim: we checked something specific, and we say so.

We do not primarily mean “verified person” or a vague “verified account” badge. We mean a verified claim.

  • Today: this account controls the registration email
  • Later (possible): this business appears in a named public register

Different claims. Same idea: each has its own check.

Today’s primary membership claim: this account controls the email address used to register (confirmed before normal login).

Optional later signals (for example phone confirmation) are named for what they are — not folded into “passport verified.”

Every verification claim should be understandable on its own, without requiring users to guess what “verified” means.

Verification is not Reputation, not public visibility, not the whole Trust Framework.

3. What it does not mean

  • Passport / government-ID KYC
  • Banking-grade onboarding
  • Biometrics or selfie match
  • Blue-check fame or paid “truth”
  • That collected fields are public
  • Full legal identity to government standards

Those refusals live in Registration and Privacy. This page does not re-argue them.

4. Principles

  1. One claim, one check — there is no free-floating “verified”; there is which claim?
  2. No silent KYC meaning
  3. Honesty about Reality
  4. Separate tiers, separate names
  5. No overlap with collect / protect documents
  6. Clarity — each claim stands alone without guessing

5. Reality v1

Claim: Membership email confirmed. Checked: Control of registration email.

Honest limit: That helps against disposable or automated accounts. It does not prove legal identity to government standards.
